Kiirma, or Gagauz placinda, is the pride and a kind of calling card of this people. The pie has been around for decades, so for some people it will even remind them of the taste of their childhood. The national dish is a thin pita bread-based pie, which is greased with sour cream or kefir. Although it is quite high in calories, it is so delicious that you can't resist.

The recipe for kiirma was shared by the chef Vasyl on Instagram.

Ingredients:

  • cottage cheese - 300 g
  • eggs - 4 pcs
  • kefir - 600 ml
  • pita bread - 2 sheets
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • butter - 20 g

Method of preparation:

1. Beat eggs, cottage cheese and kefir with a blender. Add salt.

2. Fold the pita bread into a so-called accordion and put in a baking dish.

3. Pour the kefir mass over.

4. Cut the butter into cubes and top the cake.

5. Bake at 220 degrees for 30 minutes.
