How to cook healthy and budget hake: a recipe for the whole family
Hake is a very tasty and satisfying fish that can be cooked with vegetables and sauces. It can also be baked, stewed, and fried.
The cook shared on Instagram a recipe for delicious fish stewed in vegetables, with spices and tomato paste.
Ingredients:
- hake
- 200 g bell pepper
- 1 onion
- 2 small or 1 large carrot
- 1 tomato (optional)
- 90 g tomato paste
- 20 g oil (for frying)
- 30 g wheat flour (for frying fish)
- 0.7 tsp of dry paprika
- spices for fish (optional)
- salt/pepper – to taste
Method of preparation:
1. Clean, wash, and cut the fish into several pieces as you like. Season with salt, add fish spices (optional), roll in flour, and fry on both sides for a few minutes until half cooked.
2. In a saucepan or a wide dish (frying pan with a lid), fry the chopped onion. When the onions are browned, add the thinly sliced carrots and simmer for a few more minutes, add the chopped bell pepper, tomato paste, tomato, 150 ml of boiling water, spices, and sugar, then stir, and bring to a boil.
3. Add the fried hake (raw is fine) to the vegetable mixture, cover, and simmer over low heat for 15-20 minutes.
