How to choose the right buckwheat, rice and semolina: an expert tells what to look for
Healthy cereals
All cereals, without exception, are very important elements in our diet, each one is special in its way and contains a whole range of useful trace elements and vitamins. In addition, they can be the basis for full-fledged dishes, as well as an addition, for example, rice for stuffed peppers, and buckwheat for cutlets.
Nutritionist Albina Komisarova shared on Instagram how to choose only high-quality cereals to make them as healthy as possible.
Rice
How to choose rice
- Good rice should have an even shade
- Yellow rice "says" that the cereal was stored at high humidity.
- There should be a minimum amount of crushed grains.
- More transparent grains will be more crumbly during cooking.
Buckwheat
What to look for when choosing buckwheat
- Quality buckwheat grains should be exclusively light brown.
- There should be a minimum amount of chopped, crushed grains and dirt.

- Remember that M-grade semolina always has a white or light creamy even shade and is softer.

Barley
- It should not have dark grains, and they should be of the same size.
Barley groats
- The grains are always yellow-gray and uneven.
