Homemade dried lard: recipe for a tasty appetizer
Lard is a very valuable and healthy product that can be cooked in many ways: fried, boiled, baked, and made into sandwich spreads and various snacks.
If you want to cook flavorful, soft and tender lard, drying is the best way to do it. The FoodOboz editorial team has selected a delicious recipe for dried bacon with spices and vodka.
Ingredients:
- lard - 700 g
- coarse salt - 500 g
- pepper - 1 tbsp
- nutmeg - 1 tbsp.
- paprika - 1 tbsp
- vodka - 100 ml
Method of preparation:
1. Rinse the lard under running water well and pat dry with a paper towel.
2. Mix salt, pepper, walnuts, paprika and vodka in a bowl. Stir to make a thick paste.
3. Using the resulting paste, rub the lard on all sides.
4. Put it in a bowl or saucepan, cover with a towel and refrigerate for 3 days.
5. After that, take out the lard, put it in a colander, and put some weight on top. Leave like this until all the moisture is removed.
6. When the moisture is gone, wrap the lard in a cotton cloth, tie it with ropes, hang it up and leave like this for 3 months.
7. After 3 months, clean the lard from excess salt and serve.
