Hearty Uzbek dimlama: what it is and what is best to add
Dimlama is a delicious dish of Uzbek national cuisine. It is prepared with meat, mushrooms and vegetables, which are cut into large enough pieces and stewed in a cauldron. Of course, you can't cook this way at home, so it's important to choose a thick-bottomed dish to make the dish as rich and spicy as possible.
Food blogger Katya (katyamull) shared the recipe for dimlama on her Instagram page.
Ingredients:
- potatoes - 700 g
- cabbage - 300 g
- mushrooms - 500 g
- carrots - 200 g
- onion - 100 g
- beef - 500 g
- garlic - 3 cloves
- salt, pepper
Method of preparation:
1. Cut vegetables and meat into medium pieces.
2. Fry the meat in a saucepan with a thick bottom until golden brown.
3. Add onion and garlic. Fry for another minute.
4. Add the rest of the vegetables and cook for about 1 hour over low heat, covered.
5. Increase heat and cook for 3 minutes until golden brown.
6. Add salt and pepper.
7. Serve with sour cream.
