Green onion and eggs pie: the perfect option for a hearty lunch
Pie is a versatile dish that takes only 30 minutes to prepare. Usually, the basis of all pies is yeast dough and pita bread dough. Various vegetables, meat, fish, eggs, and seafood can be used for the filling. For sweet pies, cottage cheese, berries, fruits, and nuts are ideal.
Food blogger Maria shared on Instagram a simple recipe for an onion and egg pie for a hearty lunch that takes only 40 minutes to prepare.
Ingredients:
- Flour - 3 cups
- Cottage cheese - 200 g
- Milk - 110 ml
- Baking powder - 1 tsp.
- Oil - 15 g
- Salt - a pinch
Filling:
- Eggs - 6 pcs.
- Green onions - a bunch
- Oil - 25 g
Method of preparation:
1. Filling: boil the eggs and cut into cubes.
2. Wash and finely chop the green onions, and mix them with the eggs and butter.
3. Dough: sift the flour, add baking powder, salt, cheese, butter, and milk, and mix well.
4. Put some of the dough into the mold and make the sides.
5. Put the filling in the mold.
6. Make decorations with the remaining dough. Roll out the dough thinly and cut it into strips, place them along and across the pie.
7. Brush the top with an egg and put it in a preheated oven to 180 C for 40 minutes.
