Fried pies: how to prepare successful elastic dough
Pies can be made from different doughs and with different fillings. Fried pies will also be very tasty, for which you can make liquid dough and use pita bread.
A chef shared a recipe for fried pies with a tasty filling on Instagram.
Ingredients:
- flour - 25 g
- sugar - 1 tbsp
- salt - 0.5 tsp
- oil - 30 g
- boiling water - 120 g
For the dough:
Starter:
- dry yeast - 4 g
- sugar - 5 g
- yolk - 1 pc.
- warm water - 60 g
- flour - 275 g
Method of preparation:
1. First, make the starter: mix all the dry ingredients and add oil. Cover with boiling water, stir and set aside to let it cool slightly.
2. During this time, mix yeast, sugar, egg yolk, flour, and water separately. Add the starter and knead the dough. You may need to add another 10-20 g of flour. The dough should be elastic but slightly sticky. Leave it for 1 hour.
3. Divide the dough into 10 pieces. Roll out each piece (not too thin, otherwise they will tear apart).
4. Put the filling in and pinch like a dumpling.
5. Fry over medium heat and then put on a paper towel.
