Experts told about the benefits of eating chocolate
Experts of the Spanish Association of Sweets said that eating chocolate improves memory, protects the skin from the sun, and prevents cardiovascular diseases.
At the same time, it is recommended to choose products with a high cocoa content, as they contain less milk and sugar, and therefore fewer calories, lavanguardia.com reports.
"100% cocoa is a complete food that contains proteins, carbohydrates, and healthy fats," says Santiago Peralta, founder of Pacari Chocolate.
The antioxidants present in dark chocolate (polyphenols, flavonoids, and catechins) help regulate blood pressure, protect the skin from sunlight, and counteract cellular aging. A high amount of magnesium is important for the transmission of nerve impulses, bone formation, and muscle strengthening, which is especially important for those who regularly exercise.
In addition, chocolate creates a feeling of well-being and good mood, as it promotes the release of serotonin. Also, thanks to theobromine, an alkaloid similar to caffeine, it stimulates the central nervous system and improves memory.
Despite the sensitivity of this product to high temperatures, especially in summer, it can be used to make refreshing and nutritious desserts, mousses, ice cream, or smoothies.
