Khachapuri is a delicious Georgian pastry with cheese. Traditionally, the dish is cooked in the oven. But if you don't have time to bake, you can use a frying pan.

The idea of cooking basic khachapuri in a frying pan was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Olha Holovina (olha.holovina). The dough does not stick to the pan.

Ingredients:

  • flour - 330 g
  • milk - 220 ml.
  • salt - 1 tsp.
  • sugar - 1 tbsp.
  • baking soda - 1 tsp + vinegar 1 tsp
  • oil - 2 tbsp.
  • cheese - 300 g + 1 egg + greens

Method of preparation:

1. For the dough, add salt, sugar, oil, and baking soda slaked with vinegar to room temperature milk.

2. Mix everything.

3. Add the flour and knead a soft, homogeneous elastic dough.

4. Cover it and set aside for 10 minutes.

5. For the filling, grate the cheese on a fine grater.

6. Chop your favorite herbs and add the egg. Mix everything together.

7. Divide the dough into 4 equal parts and roll the balls.

8. Roll out each ball, put the filling and pinch the top.

9. Gently roll the ball out to the diameter of your pan with a dough rolling pin.

10. On low heat, without adding oil, bake the cakes on both sides until golden brown.

11. Be sure to do this under the lid.

12. Grease the finished khachapuri with butter.
