Dumplings with filling: how to make dough that does not stick
Ideal dumplings are soft, fluffy, and do not stick together during cooking. The most important thing is to prepare a successful universal dough, for which salty and sweet fillings are suitable.
Food blogger Daryna Hryshchenko (daryna_h_h) shared a recipe for sweet dumplings with blueberries on her Instagram page. The dough for the dish is advised to be made with mineral or ice water.
Ingredients:
Dough:
- mineral water\ordinary ice water - 1 glass
- eggs - 1 pc
- flour - 3.4-4 glasses
- vegetable oil - 4 tbsp.
- salt - 1\2 tsp.
- sugar - 1\2 tsp.
The recipe uses blueberries and sugar for the filling (frozen berries are fine).
Method of preparation:
1. Mix the sifted flour with sugar and salt. Make a well in the center and add the egg. Mix with your hands.
2. Make a well again and pour water into it. Knead the dough.
3. At the end, stir in the oil. The dough should be elastic but slightly stiff - it should be. Cover the dough with a towel and leave it to rest for 20 minutes.
4. When the dough has rested, roll it out thinly and cut out circles.
5. Form dumplings by wrapping the filling inside.
6. Boil in boiling salted water for 15 minutes.
