The worst way to start your morning is drinking coffee on an empty stomach, especially for people with high acidity. In addition to the fact that even one cup of the drink can cause heartburn, irritate the mucous membranes, and stimulate the production of hydrochloric acid, it can also make you feel weak at the wrong time of day or after a bad night's sleep.

Therapist Katherine Kelly told the Daily Mail why she recommends drinking coffee 30 minutes after waking up.

First, energy. If you drink coffee at the wrong time of day when you are not fully awake, you may feel quite weak.

The doctor also warned against drinking coffee after a poor night's sleep, as research shows that people's blood sugar levels spike during the day afterwards.

"University of Bath did some research for a report last year, of people that slept badly and then had a coffee when they woke up and they found their blood sugars spiked significantly," Kelly said.

It is better to drink coffee after breakfast.

If you drink coffee after breakfast, you won't have the same blood sugar spike because the fiber and protein from your breakfast will help stop it.

The expert also advised coffee lovers to choose unprocessed black coffee rather than "freeze dried" because the former contains more antioxidants.
