Crispy smashed cucumbers with onions and greens: you can eat in 30 minutes

Smashed cucumbers are a popular vegetable appetizer. Before marinating, the cucumbers need to be slightly crushed with a knife. In just 30 minutes, the flavors will combine perfectly, and the dish will be ready.

The idea of making smashed cucumbers was published on the Instagram page of nutritionist Tatiana Yarmoshuk (dietolog.t yarmoshuk). vinegar should be used apple cider vinegar.

Ingredients:

  • cucumbers - 7-10 pcs.
  • purple onion - 1/4 - thinly chop
  • fresh garlic - a few cloves (cut into small cubes)
  • greens (I have cilantro) - finely chop
  • olive oil - 1 tbsp
  • teriyaki sauce - 1 tbsp (which I will show in my stories today)
  • apple cider vinegar - 1 tsp (I will also show in the story)
  • bay leaf - 2 pcs.
  • salt/pepper

Method of preparation:

1. Peel the cucumbers if desired

2. Cut into 3 pieces.

3. Put a knife on each of them and press down on top to crush the cucumber.

4. Then put in layers in the jar: a layer of cucumbers - a layer of all other ingredients - salt/pepper. And so on in a circle until the end.

5. Finally, pour the oil, teriyaki sauce and apple cider vinegar into the jar.

6. Close the jar and shake it well.

7. If the cucumbers have been peeled, they can be served at this stage, otherwise, put them in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

8. Shake the jar before serving so that the cucumbers are in the sauce.
