Crispy pickled cabbage in a flash: you can eat in an hour
Pickled cabbage is most popular because, despite its composition and ease of preparation, the dish is simply incredible and can easily outshine all other appetizers on the table. Ideally, pickled cabbage is quite crispy and has a pleasant sweet flavor. And it depends on the right spices or marinade.
Food blogger Yuliia (juli_co.ok) shared a recipe for pickled cabbage on her Instagram page that can be eaten in an hour.
Ingredients for 1 kg of cabbage:
- carrots – 1-2 pieces
- garlic – 3 cloves
- onion – 1 pc
- vegetable oil – 5 tbsp
- salt – 1 tbsp
- sugar – 4 tbsp
- vinegar – 5 tbsp
- soy sauce – 1 tbsp
- ground black pepper – 0.5 tsp
- turmeric – 0.5 tsp
- dry garlic – 0.5 tsp
- ground coriander – 0.5 tsp
Method of preparation:
1. First, prepare the vegetables: dice the cabbage, chop the onion, grate the carrots on a Korean grater, chop the garlic through a press.
2. Mix all chopped vegetables with spices, vinegar, and soy sauce. Mix by hand.
3. Put the cabbage in any convenient container, close it, and leave it in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour. The cabbage will fully reveal its flavor in a day.
