Chicken and caramelized onion sandwich: how to feed your family in a tasty and original way

A sandwich is a very easy-to-prepare and delicious dish that is ideal for a nutritious lunch.

A food blogger with the nickname kathycoooks and Instagram offered a recipe for a chicken and caramelized onion sandwich. She also shared how to make the perfect cheese sauce to go with this dish.

Ingredients

  • Thigh fillet - 200 gr
  • Avocado - 1/3 pc
  • Onion - 1 pc
  • Ciabatta - 1 pc
  • Toasted cheese - 2 pcs
  • Spices to taste
  • Pepsi - 150 ml

Ingredients for cheese sauce

  • Cheddar cheese - 130 gr
  • Butter - 20 g
  • Flour - 1 tbsp
  • Cream - 120 ml
  • Smoked paprika
  • Dried garlic

Method of preparation

1.Cut the chicken into strips and fry in vegetable oil until cooked, adding your favorite spices.

2. Cut the avocado into slices.

3. Fry the ciabatta on the grill.

4. Cut the onion into feathers and put it in a frying pan. Add salt and spices and fry until golden brown.

5. Add the Pepsi and wait until the liquid has completely evaporated and the onion has a caramel color with a pleasant sweet flavor.

6. Prepare the sauce. Melt the butter, add the flour and mix well.

7. Pour in the cream and add the spices.

8. Grate the cheese and add it to the sauce, bring it to homogeneity.

9. Assemble the sandwich: spread the cheese sauce on half of the ciabatta. Then chicken and slices of toasted cheese. Top with caramelized onions and avocado. Cover with the other half of the bread.

10. Put it in a preheated oven to 180 degrees for 3-4 minutes to melt the cheese.
