Cheese Napoleon: a recipe that went viral on Instagram

This "Napoleon" conquered social networks with its composition, because the dessert is based on cottage cheese. This makes the structure extremely tender and creamy. And the cooking technique itself is slightly different from the classic one.

Ingredients for the dough:

  • cottage cheese - 400 g
  • sugar - 180 g
  • butter - 120 g
  • eggs - 2 pcs.
  • vanilla - 10 g
  • wheat flour - 450 g
  • baking powder - 10 g

Ingredients for the cream:

  • milk - 1 liter
  • sugar - 250 g
  • egg yolks - 4 pcs.
  • butter - 100 g
  • wheat flour - 7 tbsp
  • vanilla - 10 g

Method of making the dough:

Cottage cheese for dessert

1. Mix all dry ingredients except sugar.

2. Sweeten the cottage cheese and beat with a blender until smooth.

3. Add eggs, vanilla, melted and cooled butter, baking powder.

4. Add the sifted wheat flour in small portions.

5. Knead soft dough with your hands. Wrap in cling film and refrigerate for 1 hour.

Method of preparation of the cream:

1. Mix eggs with sugar in a large bowl and beat with a whisk.

2. Add flour in portions.

3. Pour in the milk, mix well until smooth with a whisk.

4. Pour into a saucepan.

5. Cook until thick, stirring constantly with a spatula.

6. Cover with cling film and leave to cool.

7. Beat the soft butter.

8. Spoon in the cooled custard base, beating well with a mixer each time.

To assemble the cake:

1. Divide the dough into 10 equal parts.

2. Roll out thin cakes and cut out circles 20 cm in diameter. Make punctures with a fork.

3. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for about 10-15 minutes.

4. Spread the cream evenly over the cake.

5. Put a layer on top and grease each subsequent layer.

6. Grind the scraps into crumbs in a blender. Sprinkle the top and sides of the cake.

7. Leave to soak for 5 hours, preferably overnight.
