Better than forshmak: a budget-friendly and delicious herring appetizer in 10 minutes
Herring is the most budget-friendly and healthy fish that can be used to make not only Shuba or forshmak but also flavorful and satisfying snacks. It's worth noting that herring can be salted, pickled, and even boiled.
Cook Maria shared a recipe for a delicious appetizer of herring, cream cheese, and pickles that takes just 10 minutes to prepare on Instagram.
Ingredients:
- herring fillet - 2 pcs.
- cream cheese - 2 tbsp.
- green onions
- pickled cucumbers - 4 pcs.
Method of preparation:
1. Put the herring fillet on the foil, put cling film on top and beat off a little.
2. For the filling, finely chop the onion and the cucumbers and mix with the cheese.
3. Put the prepared mass on the herring, top with cucumbers, roll up and put in the refrigerator for 1 hour or preferably overnight.
4. Cut the roll into portions and serve! It will be delicious with potatoes.
