Ingredients:
- 3 medium beets
- 8 medium tomatoes
- 5-7 cloves of garlic
- 100 ml of vegetable oil
- 1 tsp. red hot pepper
- 1 tbsp. salt or to taste
- 2 tbsp sugar, can be replaced with natural syrup
- 1 tbsp of tomato paste
- a handful of walnuts, if desired

Method of preparation:
1. Grate the beetroot on a fine grater and simmer in oil over low heat for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

2. Peel the tomatoes and beat them in a blender.

3. Add to the beets and simmer for another 20-30 minutes.

4. Then add salt, sugar, garlic, tomato paste, and walnuts passed through a press and simmer for another 10 minutes.
5. Put in sterilized jars.
