Autumn polenta with mushrooms: how and what to cook a hearty dish for dinner
Corn grits are not only the most budget-friendly but also very tasty. It can be used to make a delicious polenta, and if you add mushrooms, you'll get a hearty dinner dish.
The cook shared a recipe for delicious corn porridge polenta with fried mushrooms on Instagram.
Ingredients:
- Mushrooms – 400 g
- Butter – 50 g
- Salt, pepper, nutmeg
- A couple of sprigs of thyme
For the porridge:
- Corn grits – 2 cups
- Water – 9 cups
- Cream – 200 ml, preferably fat
- Garlic – 2-3 cloves.
- Butter – 100 g
- Grated Parmesan cheese – 100 g
- Salt – 2 tsp. focus on your taste
Method of preparation:
1. Pour corn grits with water and mix.
2. In a saucepan, melt the butter, squeeze the garlic, and simmer until it releases its aroma. Pour in the grits along with the water, cook, and stir constantly with a whisk until thickened and add salt.
3. Pour in the cream, cook for a few minutes, and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese. Leave some parmesan for serving. Cook until the cheese is melted. Do not forget to stir.
4. Serve the dish hot with mushrooms, sprinkle with herbs and parmesan!
