No joke, any hostess (or gentleman, we are against gender stereotypes, the kitchen is not only a place for women!) will always have a list of must-have products that will help both season ordinary pasta and literally make "axe porridge."

The FoodOboz editorial team has compiled its own list of products that, in our opinion, should be in every kitchen at any time of the year – in cabinets, in the refrigerator, or freezer.

In the cupboard

  • Pasta made from durum wheat. Italian pasta can be the basis for main courses, an addition to soup, and certain types of pasta can be stuffed or used to make casseroles (lasagna, for example).
  • Sauces. We are talking about mustard, as well as soy and tomato sauces. They contain little fat and a minimal amount of preservatives, which makes them a useful addition to main courses and sandwiches. They can be used to marinate meat and fish and bake poultry and meat rolls.
  • Oatmeal. Ideal for making porridge, cookies, cutlets, jelly, granola, and other dishes. It contains a lot of calcium, sodium, iron, vitamin A, and B vitamins. It can be stored for a long time, is inexpensive, and is perfectly absorbed by the body.
  • Canned food. Cans of canned green peas, corn, chickpeas, and beans are good for salads and quick side dishes. And stew or canned fish can be a great addition to them or a base for salads.
  • Nuts: They can be eaten simply as a snack or added to baked goods, desserts, cocktails, and salads.
  • Cereals and legumes. Affordable, huge assortment – you can buy such products for the future and cook a huge number of dishes with them.
  • Honey. Good honey can be stored for almost years. It can be used as a natural sugar substitute, served with pancakes and pancakes, added to tea, meat and vegetable dishes, and marinades based on it.
  • Potatoes. For side dishes, soups, stews, casseroles, and vegetable cutlets, potatoes are an indispensable tool in your kitchen at any time of the year.
  • Dried fruits. An ideal dessert and snack. Dried fruits can be eaten raw, added to baked goods and salads, or used to make compotes.

  • Oil. Olive oil is considered the healthiest, but the list of healthy oils is not limited to it. Try sesame, mustard, corn, and rice oil. And don't forget about homemade flavored sunflower oil - it's perfect for making salads.

In the refrigerator

  • Natural yogurt. Yogurt without fruit additives is considered to be very healthy for the body. It can be drunk for breakfast, as well as used as a salad dressing, marinade for meat, or sauce for fish.
  • Sun-dried tomatoes. They are relevant at any time of the year. They can be a great snack, an ideal appetizer for porridge, pasta, or potatoes, as well as a pizza topping or an addition to borscht.
  • Fresh fruit. Always keep at least two types of fruit in your refrigerator: nutritionists never tire of repeating that a healthy person should eat 3-4 servings of fresh fruit daily.
  • Fresh herbs. Parsley, dill, basil, sorrel, spinach, lettuce - all of these will make a great base for salads and a great addition to first courses, sandwiches, and casseroles.
  • Fresh vegetables. It is advisable to buy only seasonal vegetables, so the list here may vary depending on the season.
  • Butter. One of the best additives for porridge, potatoes, and pasta. In addition, butter can be used to make a variety of sauces and dressings.
  • Boiled or baked meat. You can use this meat instead of sausage and ham from the store, make sandwiches and pizza with it, serve it with porridge or pasta, and make it into pie fillings.
  • Eggs. It doesn't matter whether they are chicken or quail eggs. Eat eggs for breakfast as a separate dish or throughout the day as an addition to salads or as a snack.
  • Cheese. Cheese can be used as an ingredient for salads, added to pasta, sprinkled on pizza and casseroles, or simply served as a snack with wine.

In the freezer

  • Berries and fruits. Frozen berries and sliced fruit make a great base for cocktails, as well as an additive for yogurt, ice cream, and cottage cheese. They can be used to make pies, homemade cookies, jellies, and milkshakes all year round.
  • Puff pastry. An ideal ingredient for making quick pies.
  • Meat. Freeze meat in small portions so that it is easier to defrost and use for broth, stroganoff, or cutlets.
  • Frozen vegetables. These vegetables are almost as good as fresh produce in terms of their nutrients, and at the same time, they are available all year round. Freeze them yourself or buy ready-made sets at the supermarket: broccoli, green peas, corn, green beans, carrots, mushrooms.
  • Broth. Prepare a very concentrated broth and freeze it in portioned bags. If necessary, defrost and cook soups, and mashed potatoes, and add broth to sauces, cereals, and stews.
