For many years, cabbage rolls have been a favorite dish on the Ukrainian table. They never get boring and taste great during any holiday, feast, or just on a weekday. This dish is versatile, so even novice housewives can easily cook it.

The recipe for cabbage rolls with mushrooms was shared by Natalia Sus on her Youtube channel.

Ingredients:

  • cabbage - 1 pc
  • onion
  • carrots
  • mushrooms
  • round rice
  • water - 300 ml + 100 ml (for dressing)
  • tomato
  • salt and pepper

Method of preparation:

  1. Chop the onion and fry. Grate the carrots and add to the onions. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Chop the mushrooms.
  3. Set aside some of the vegetables in a separate bowl. Add the mushrooms to the rest of the vegetables in the pan.
  4. Cook with the lid on at first, and then with the lid open to allow the liquid to evaporate.
  5. Meanwhile, rinse the rice 3-4 times. Cover with water. Add salt, bring to a boil, and cook for 5 minutes. Then let it cool.
  6. Mix the rice with the vegetable and mushroom dressing.
  7. Prepare the cabbage: cut out the head of cabbage and put it in boiling salted water. Cook for 2 minutes. Then immediately separate the leaves in a saucepan. Remove the leaves that are completely soft, and cook the hard ones for another 1 minute.
  8. Cut off the hard veins on the leaves.
  9. Put about 1 tablespoon of the filling on the leaf and wrap it in a roll.
  10. For the dressing, mix the previously cooked carrots and onions, and frozen or fresh tomatoes. Add a little oil and cover with hot water. Bring to a boil.
  11. Pour the dressing over the cabbage rolls. Simmer for about 30 minutes.

  • pork fat - 2-3 tbsp
  • paprika
  • tomato paste - 1 tbsp
  • salt, pepper, seasoning - to taste

Method of preparation:

  1. Grate the carrots and dice the onion.
  2. Dice the bell pepper and tomatoes.
  3. Rinse the rice 3-4 times.
  4. Melt the fat in a frying pan and add the onion. As soon as it becomes transparent, add pepper. Fry for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Add the carrots. Fry for 2-3 minutes. Add a little fat and ground paprika. Add the tomatoes.
  6. Mix the rice with the minced meat and roast. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Prepare the cabbage: cut out the head of cabbage and put it in boiling salted water. Cook for 2 minutes. Then immediately separate the leaves in a saucepan. Remove the leaves that are completely soft, and cook the hard ones for another 1 minute.
  8. Cut off the hard veins on the leaves.

  10. Dilute the tomato paste with water. Pour the liquid over the cabbage rolls. Then pour hot water over them. Stew for 20-25 minutes.
