You haven't cooked macaroni like this before: mac and cheese with bacon for a delicious dinner
Basically, mac and cheese is macaroni and cheese. It is an extraordinary dish whose taste is incomparable. And since it's quite quick and easy to prepare, mac and cheese can be called one of the most popular dishes in the world.
Food blogger Olena Kudriavtseva shared her own recipe for mac and cheese on her Instagram. She also added bacon to the dish, which resulted in an unbeatable taste.
Ingredients
- Breadcrumbs – 80 gr
- Cheese – 200 gr
- Ham – 150 gr
- Butter – 50 gr
- Flour – 50 g
- Milk – 500 ml
- Pasta – 300 g
- Nutmeg – optional
Method of preparation
1. Fry the breadcrumbs in a frying pan with oil. The best thing to do is to crush yesterday's roll or loaf. Ideally, there should be small and large pieces, not ground into dust from the supermarket.
2. Fry the finely chopped bacon or ham in a dry frying pan until golden brown and transfer to a paper towel.
3. Boil the pasta until al dente.
4. Melt the butter in a saucepan, add the flour and fry a little.
5. Gradually add the milk and stir until the lumps dissolve. If the lumps do not disappear, you can use a blender.
6. Add the cheese to the sauce and stir until melted.
7. Add the chopped bacon and 100-150 ml of water in which the pasta was cooked.
8. Put the pasta in a baking dish, pour the sauce over it, and sprinkle with fried breadcrumbs.
9 . Bake for 15-20 minutes at 180 degrees.
