Apricots are ideal for making thick, tasty and flavorful jams, as well as pies and marmalade. They can also be used to make dried apricots and savory sauces for meat.

Culinary expert Yevhen Klopotenko shared a recipe for delicious apricot jam with cognac, which will be simply amazing in taste and easy to prepare, on his website.

Tips from the cook:

1. To make the jam perfect, it is better to choose ripe and juicy fruits.

2. A pleasant golden color is obtained by combining two main ingredients - cognac and apricots - where alcohol also gives a stunning tart flavor.

Ingredients:

  • apricots - 1 kg
  • walnuts - 100 g
  • sugar - 500 g
  • cognac - 100 ml
  • water - 20 ml

Method of preparation:

1. Wash the apricots well and be sure to remove the pits.

2. Put in a saucepan, add sugar and water, and bring to a boil over medium heat.

3. Chop the walnuts and add to the boiling jam. Reduce the heat to low and cook for another 7-10 minutes.

4. A few minutes before cooking, pour in cognac and stir.

5. Pour the finished jam into sterilized jars, let them cool, and put them in a cool place.

It's worth noting that apricot jam goes well with a cheese plate or saltine crackers. And if you mix it with a little mustard and a pinch of salt, you'll get an incredible glaze for baking chicken or pork!
