Why you shouldn't get too carried away with sushi: an expert tells

Marina Borzhemskaya about the benefits and shoda of Japanese rolls

This oriental dish is served in almost every restaurant in the world. The delivery of such food became especially relevant in times of total quarantine, when all catering establishments were closed. And all this is about sushi, which you can eat a lot of at once and not even notice. The price of such a product can be completely different, as well as the impact on the body. So it's worth considering whether and how much to add to your diet.

Marina Borzhemska-Uzelkova, a well-known Ukrainian fitness trainer and TV presenter, spoke about the benefits and harms of such a popular dish as sushi on her Instagram page. Marina admits that from time to time she and her children can eat fish rolls and wants to share with her followers how such food actually affects the body.

What are the benefits and harms of rolls

Benefits of rolls

Really fresh and properly prepared rolls and sushi are a healthy and nutritious dish. One of the main ingredients is sea fish. It contains a large amount of vitamins and minerals.

Nori, in which all the main components are wrapped, contains iodine, retinol, vitamins C and E, which are useful for the body.

Traditional sushi in restaurants

Wasabi, ginger, and soy sauce are always served as an addition to the dish. All these ingredients have antiseptic, antibacterial and immunostimulating effects, have a positive effect on the nervous system, and act as antioxidants and antidepressants.

The dangers of rolls

The main danger of this dish is raw fish. And its quality is most affected by storage conditions.

As for nori, eating them in excessive quantities can cause thyroid disorders. Soy sauce, in turn, contains a large amount of salt, which retains fluid in the body, deposits on the joints and increases blood pressure in hypertensive patients.

Raw red fish for the dish

Also, if the rice in the restaurant is cooked using special processing technology, it loses some of its beneficial properties and becomes quite high in calories.

Therefore, you should not abuse such food. The best option is to cook it at home. In recent years, a spectacular shishi-salad has become a very popular alternative to traditional rolls, and it's very easy to make at home. The idea was published on the Instagram page of food bloggerNatalia Monastyrska (natalia_monastyrska) .
