However, there is a life hack that will make this process much easier. Chef Yevhen Klopotenko shared his secret to checking the thickness of jam before it is rolled into jars on his official website .

How to check the thickness of jam

If you want to get thicker jam, he advises, you can increase the cooking time a bit. "But keep in mind that while the jam is in the jar, it will still become thicker," Klopotenko warned.

At the same time, the chef notes that if you want to know what the consistency of the jam will be while it is still in the process of cooking, there is a life hack for this. Put a saucer or plate in the freezer in advance and let it sit for 15 minutes. Then take it out, put some hot jam on the plate and tilt it.

This is the thickness of your jam when it has completely cooled. After that, you will be able to figure out for yourself whether you need to thicken it further or stop.
