Garlic is actively added to the diet during the cold season. This is because this product has long been famous for its antiviral properties. But it is important to understand exactly how to use the plant to maximize its benefits.

This information was shared by the famous Ukrainian nutritionist Svitlana Fus on her Facebook page.

The expert notes that raw and cooked garlic have different benefits. Most active substances are destroyed by heat treatment. Therefore, it is better to chop fresh garlic just before serving the dish. Only it contains useful essential oils and allicin.

One of the most popular Ukrainian dishes that includes raw garlic is bacon spread. The idea of its preparation was published on the Instagram page of a food blogger with the nickname marynly77.

Ingredients:

  • lard
  • garlic
  • dill
  • pepper (optional)

Method of preparation:

1. Remove the skin from the bacon.

2. Rinse it well.

3. Put all the ingredients in the blender bowl.

4. Blend well.

5. Serve with bread or roll.
