What to stew cabbage with to make it the main star on the table: two ingredients that completely change its taste
Even such a simple dish as stewed cabbage can become a real star of the table. If you cook it properly and add a few more ingredients, the dish will be able to impress even the most demanding gourmet.
Food blogger Alina Kondratiuk shared how to make stewed cabbage so that it will impress everyone on Instagram. She also showed what two ingredients should be added to the dish to completely change the way people look at it.
Ingredients
- meat - 300 gr
- cabbage - 500 gr
- onion - 1 pc
- carrots - 1 pc
- tomatoes - 1 pc
- salt - ½ tsp
- sugar - 1 tbsp.
Method of preparation
1. Cut the meat into small pieces and put it in a frying pan with heated oil. Fry.
2. Cut the onion into half rings and carrots into strips.
3. Add the onion to the meat, and when it becomes transparent, add the carrots. Stir and continue frying.
4. Shred the cabbage, add salt and squeez thoroughly with your hands.
5. Put the cabbage in the pan, stir and continue to fry.
6. Cut the tomatoes into small cubes and add to the pan. You can also use tomato paste.
7. Add sugar and salt. Stir and simmer over low heat.
8. Add prunes about 10 minutes before cooking.
