Homemade ketchup is a great alternative to a variety of store-bought sauces. And you don't even have to prepare tomatoes for a long time to make this preparation. For the base, you will need apples and tomato paste.

The idea of making homemade ketchup for the winter is published on the hlib ta pryanyk culinary page on Instagram. The sauce is stored perfectly.

Ingredients:

  • apples - 4 medium pcs. 
  • onion - 1 medium pc.
  • garlic - 1 clove
  • tomato paste - 5 tbsp.
  • water - 100 ml.

Method of preparation:

1. Peel the apples and remove the core.

2. Cut into slices.

3. Peel and chop the onion.

4. Fry the onion in a pan (you can do it without adding oil).

5. Then add the apples.

6. Simmer until the apples are soft.

7. Add finely chopped garlic at the end.

8. When the apples have cooled, put all the ingredients in a blender. You can add more water, depending on the desired consistency.

9. Beat everything with a blender and ketchup is ready.
