If you have leftover sponge cake after making the cake, don't rush to throw it away. They can become the basis for another delicious dessert – trifle. The treat can be made with any berries of your choice and served in a glass. It will be a very fresh, light, and tasty dessert.
Food blogger Olha Romanchuk (olya_romanchyk_) shared a recipe for a raspberry trifle with sponge cake in a glass on her Instagram page.
Ingredients:
- sponge cake
- berries
- cream cheese
- cream
- pistachio crumbs
Method of preparation:
1. First you need to beat the cream cheese with a blender together with cream until fluffy and stable.
2. Break the sponge cake into small cubes.
3. Put the dessert in a glass as follows: a layer of sponge cake, a layer of cream, raspberries, a layer of sponge cake, raspberries, and a layer of cream.
4. Garnish with raspberries and pistachio crumbs.
