What to make rolls with besides cabbage: an interesting alternative
It turns out that not only cabbage but also zucchini can be used as a base for traditional rolls. This combination of ingredients is quite interesting and unusual but also very, very tasty. The basis is classic minced meat and rice, and in combination with a simple tomato sauce, you get a perfect dish that will impress even gourmets.
Food blogger Maria (marichka_gorodetska) shared a recipe for zucchini rolls on her Instagram page.
Ingredients:
- zucchini - 3 pcs
- minced meat - 400 g
- dry rice - 100 g
- onion - 1 pc
- carrot - 1 pc
- garlic - 2 cloves
- salt, pepper
Dressing:
- water - 200 ml
- sour cream - 2-3 tbsp.
- tomato paste - 2-3 tbsp.
- salt
Method of preparation:
1. Boil and cool the rice beforehand.
2. Grate or chop the onion.
3. Grate the carrots on a fine grater.
4. Mix all ingredients except zucchini in a bowl.
5. Cut zucchini into slices.
6. Put a little minced meat on a zucchini slice and roll it up. Put into the mold.
7. For the filling, mix all the necessary ingredients. Pour over the rolls.
8. Cover them with foil. Bake at 180 degrees for 35-40 minutes.
