What to make halušky with other than potatoes: a very satisfying idea
Apart from potatoes, halušky can be made from a seasonal autumn vegetable - pumpkin. The pumpkin halušky are very tender and soft, with a special flavor from Parmesan and sage cream sauce.
Food blogger Yana Leskova with the nickname lieskovayana shared a recipe for pumpkin halušky with sauce on her Instagram page.
Ingredients:
Dough:
- pumpkin puree - 300 g
- flour - 100 g
- salt, pepper
- Parmesan cheese (optional)
Sauce:
- butter - 20 g
- sage
- herbs
Method of preparation:
1. It is best to bake the pumpkin beforehand (you can boil it). When ready, mash it in a puree.
2. Add flour, salt, pepper and Parmesan cheese to the mashed potatoes as desired. Knead the pumpkin dough and leave for 20 minutes.
3. Form the dough into balls. Make a hole in each of them.
4. Boil the halušky in boiling salted water until they float to the top, about 3-4 minutes.
5. For the sauce, heat the butter until golden brown.
6. Immediately add the sage and heat the leaves for a few minutes.
7. Serve the halušky with the sauce, sprinkle with herbs and cheese.
