Don't know what to do with kefir that is no longer so fresh? You can make pancakes or even bagels. In extreme cases, pour it out. However, you can also prepare homemade cottage cheese, which can be used in desserts or just eaten with honey and nuts.
Food blogger Oksana Myroniuk shared how to prepare homemade cheese with kefir on Instagram.
To make cheese, you need:
- water - 1 liter
- kefir - 1 liter
Method of preparation:
1. It is important to follow a 1:1 ratio. Pour boiling water over the kefir.
2. Let it stand until the whey is gone (it can take from 1 hour to 1 day).
3. Strain through cheesecloth.
Then you can muffins according to the recipe of vika_tasty, which the food blogger shared on her Instagram page.
Ingredients:
- butter - 150 g
- eggs - 3 pcs
- sugar - 100 g
- kefir - 150 ml
- flour - 1.5 cups
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- chocolate drops - 50 g
- salt - 1 cup
- vanillin
Method of preparation:
1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.
2. Beat the butter with sugar.
3. Add eggs and kefir.
4. Mix flour, baking powder, salt and vanilla separately. Gradually add to the liquid mass.
5. Add chocolate drops at the very end.
6. Put into molds. Bake for 25 minutes.
