What to do with an avocado to make it ripen in just one day: life hack
It often happens that the avocado you buy turns out to be unripe. However, this process can be easily accelerated at home. The most important thing is that this does not affect the quality of the product, and the ripe fruit will delight you with its pleasant taste and aroma.
Nutritionist Maryna (dietolog_kyiv) shared a life hack on her Instagram page that will help speed up the ripening process of avocados. She also told us how to make a delicious avocado spread for sandwiches and toast.
As it turns out, avocados can ripen after being picked. And that's why the fruit often appears green and hard on store shelves.
According to the expert, avocados take about 4-6 days to ripen. But to reduce this period to 1 day, you need to use a life hack.
To do this, put an avocado in a cardboard bag with a banana or apple. The fact is that in a confined space, vegetables and fruits release ethylene, an important compound that helps in ripening. Specifically, bananas or apples release it three times more than others.
If you do decide to use this method, the nutritionist advises periodically opening the bag and letting the air out.
To make a delicious avocado spread, you'll need the following ingredients:
- avocado
- herbs
- salt, spices
- lime juice
- hemp seeds
- olive oil
Method of preparation:
1. Mash the avocado.
2. Chop the greens. Add to the avocado.
