What to cook with tomatoes to surprise your family: a recipe for an unusual jam
If you like to experiment and combine different flavors, this dish is definitely for you. Besides, it won't take you much time to prepare.
Nutritionist Inna Levenets shared a variant of the unusual tomato jam on her Instagram page. According to the author of the recipe, this culinary miracle will be the perfect addition to your breakfast. "Take a slice of bread, spread it with vegan butter, and top it with jam, spicy-sweet and unusual," she writes.
Ingredients:
- 1.5 kg of ripe tomatoes
- 1 onion
- 1 cup of cane sugar
- 1 tsp of salt
- 1/2 tsp of coriander
- 1/2 tsp of ground cumin
- 2 tbsp. tablespoons of apple cider vinegar
- 3 tbsp. tablespoons of lemon juice.
Method of preparation:
1. Scald the tomatoes with boiling water, remove the skin, and cut into quarters. Cut the onion into small cubes.
2. Put all the ingredients in a saucepan with a thick bottom and boil for a couple of hours over low heat. Do not forget to stir occasionally.
3. Let it cool, put it in a glass jar, and refrigerate.
The jam will be delicious with fresh bread or croissant.
