What to cook with stale bread: a delicious breakfast idea

It often happens that when there is a lot of bread left over, people simply don't have time to eat it, and the product ends up becoming stale. Because of this, it is simply thrown away. But it can still be fixed. Such stale bread makes delicious French toast for your gourmet breakfast.
The idea of making French toast from the day before yesterday's bread was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Inna Levenets (inna_levenets).
Ingredients:
- vegetable milk – 1 1/2 cups
- agave or Jerusalem artichoke syrup – 1 tbsp
- chickpea flour – 1/4 cup
- cinnamon – 1 tsp
- grated nutmeg – 1/4 tsp
- salt – 1/2 tsp
- bread – 8-10 slices
Ingredients for berry compote:
- any berries – 200 g
- cane sugar – 60 g
- orange juice – 2 tbsp
- oil for frying
- vegetable yogurt for garnish
Method of preparation:
1. Make a mix: mix milk with chickpea flour, spices, syrup.
2. Prepare the compote: boil the berries with sugar and orange juice over low heat. About 15 minutes.
3. Dip the toast into the mix, let it absorb well, and fry in a well-heated frying pan with vegetable oil for one and a half minutes on each side.
4. Grease the finished toast with vegetable yogurt and put the berries on top. If you like, pour more syrup on top.
