What to cook with herring: recipe for the most delicious appetizer by Hector Jimenez-Bravo
According to experts, the healthiest and most affordable fish is herring. It is high in polyunsaturated fatty acids Omega-6 and Omega-3. They help protect blood vessels from atherosclerosis and strengthen the immune system. It is worth noting that the content of healthy fatty acids in herring is the same as in salmon and trout. It is best to eat pickled herring, and you can also pickle it yourself and prepare salads and snacks.
Chef Hector Jimenez-Bravo shared a recipe for a delicious herring tartare with green onions on Instagram.
Ingredients:
- herring fillet - 100 g
- green onions - 10 g
- red onion - 10 g
- parsley - 5 g
- egg (boiled) - 1/2 pc.
- capers - 5 g
- herring - 100 g
- mayonnaise - 15 g
- oil
- salt and pepper - to taste
- black bread for serving
Method of preparation:
1. Finely chop the herring fillet.
2. Finely chop the onion, eggs, and capers, and put everything in a bowl. Season with mayonnaise, oil, and spices and mix well.
Serve the appetizer with croutons!
