What to cook Lenten dumplings with: they turn out very hearty
The product, which is the main ingredient of such a stuffing, in boiled form tastes like meat. We are talking about beans. It is especially delicious if you add a lot of different spices and herbs. Such dumplings are an ideal dish during the Easter fasting period.
The idea of making Lenten dumplings with boiled beans was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Solomia with the nickname solomia_ukraine_usa.
Ingredients for stuffing:
- 500 g cooked beans
- 30 g dried mushrooms
- 1 onion
- 1 tsp. oregano
- 1 tsp. dill
- 1 tbsp. apple cider vinegar
- salt, pepper, oil for frying.
Cooking method:
1. Fill the beans and mushrooms with water and leave to soak overnight. Then boil them.
2. Blend the cooked beans and mushrooms in a blender until smooth.
3. Peel onions, dice and fry in vegetable oil.
4. Add the fried onions to the beans and mushrooms and mix.
5. Add salt, pepper, vinegar and oregano to taste.
6. Knead your favorite dumpling dough.
7. Roll out, cut out circles, place the filling and seal the edges.
8. Drop the dumplings in batches into boiling salted water. Cook for about 3-4 minutes from the boiling point. Serve with butter and fried onions or mushroom gravy.
