What to bake cold boiled pork in to make it soft and juicy
Homemade cold boiled pork is a delicious meat appetizer that is often served for a festive table. To make the meat soft, tender, and juicy, it must be marinated with spices. And for a special flavor, bake the pork in foil or in a baking sleeve.
Ukrainian chef Anatoliy Dobrovolskyi dobrovolskiy_hchef shared a recipe for cold boiled pork on his Instagram page.
Ingredients:
- pork (ham or shoulder) - 1.5 kg
- onion - 1 pc.
- garlic - 8-10 cloves
- salt, pepper
- dried mint - 1 tbsp.
- dark or light bread kvass - 2 liters
- horseradish and bread (for serving)
Method of preparation:
1. Make cuts in the meat.
2. Cut the onion into 8 pieces and put each of them in the cuts together with garlic.
3. Rub the meat in salt and pepper.
4. Put it in a bowl and pour kvass over it. Add vinegar and mint at the same time. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and leave for 24 hours.
5. Fry the meat in butter on all sides.
6. Next, wrap the meat in foil and bake at 180 degrees for 1-1.20 hours.
7. Cool the pork and serve with horseradish and bread.
