The simplest, fastest to prepare and most delicious potato dish is pancakes. For an original taste, you can add spices and garlic to the potatoes. However, not only the taste of the dish is important, but also its appearance, because often potato pancakes darken and look gray.

Cook Yulia told us on Instagram what to add to the dough for pancakes to make them a beautiful golden color.

Cook's tip: onion juice will prevent the potatoes from darkening, so chop the onion and add it to the grated potatoes and mix.

Ingredients for pancakes:

  • potatoes - 6-8 pcs.
  • onion - 4 pcs.
  • garlic - 7 cloves
  • eggs - 2 pcs.
  • semolina - 3 tbsp. l.
  • flour - 5-6 tbsp.
  • sour cream - 2 tbsp.
  • salt, pepper - to taste

Method of preparation:

1. Peel and grate the potatoes.

2. Cut the onion into small cubes and add to the potatoes immediately, mix well.

3. Chop the garlic and add to the pancakes.

4. Add semolina, eggs, salt, pepper and mix thoroughly.

5. Heat a frying pan, add oil and fry the potato pancakes.
