What to add to cherry jam for a refined taste: just one ingredient
As soon as the cherry season arrives, the first thing housewives do is make jam. And no matter how strange it may sound, spices such as star anise, ginger, or cinnamon can help add a bright, spicy, and special flavor to this dessert.
Chef Yevhen Klopotenko shared a recipe for cherry jam with cinnamon on his culinary website.
Ingredients:
- pitted cherries - 1 kg
- sugar - 600 g
- cinnamon sticks - 2 pcs
Method of preparation:
1. Wash the cherries and remove the pits. Pour into a saucepan with a thick bottom.
2. Add sugar and leave for 15 minutes.
3. Add cinnamon to the berries and put on fire. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce the heat to low and cook for 10 minutes, stirring.
4. Put the jam in sterilized jars. Screw on the lids. When the jars have cooled, put them in a cool place.
