What to add to apple jam to make it even more delicious: an unexpected product
Apple jam can be called a real dessert, because this product is very sweet, flavorful, and perfectly complements the taste of tea and rolls. Moreover, apples are available all year round and their price is quite reasonable. And to add a bright flavor to this fruit jam, you can combine apples with one unconventional ingredient - poppy seeds.
The recipe for delicious apple jam with poppy seeds was shared by the famous Ukrainian chef Yevhen Klopotenko on his official website.
Ingredients:
- apples - 1 kg
- sugar - 500 g
- poppy seeds - 50 g
Method of preparation:
1. Prepare all the ingredients for the jam and the jars and lids for sterilization.
2. Wash the apples, peel them, and cut them into large pieces.
3. Put the fruit in a saucepan, and pour a small amount of water – it should cover the bottom.
4. Add sugar, and cook the apples over low heat for 7 minutes or until the sugar melts.
5. Add the poppy seeds, and cook the jam over low heat until the poppy seeds are soft. Stir occasionally.
6. Sterilize the jars and lids in the oven.
7. Put the jam in sterilized jars and roll up the lids.
