What tea is the healthiest: nutritionist shares her secrets
Tea is a universal and adored drink that is drunk all over the world in various variations, and whole tea ceremonies are organized. This drink is special because it is simple to prepare, and it can give you both a boost of energy and relaxation after a hard day.
Nutritionist Svitlana Fus shared on Facebook the most useful types of tea for the body, as well as how these drinks should not be prepared so that they do not lose their beneficial properties.
To begin with, if you like green tea, you need to know that it contains flavonoids, which are good for the body. They, in turn, have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects, and improve the condition of the vascular endothelium, reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease.
The expert says that the benefits of herbal tea are determined by the set of natural substances that make up its composition and can help with certain conditions.
TOP 5 most useful types of tea:
1. Chamomile tea
It will perfectly relax you and help you fall asleep quickly.
2. Peppermint tea
It can be useful for bloating (flatulence), is used to relieve abdominal cramps, and improves digestion. In addition, tea with mint or lemon balm (lemon balm is a popular name) is relaxing and soothing.
3. Tea with ginger
It perfectly tones up, relieves stomach cramps, and improves gastrointestinal motility. It is important that ginger root is a proven folk remedy for colds. It also reduces puffiness and sometimes helps to cope with hunger.
4. Rosehip tea
It contains ascorbic acid, which makes it essential for consumption, especially in the fall. But it's best to make an infusion of it, as hot water destroys vitamin C, which is essential for maintaining immunity.
5. Karkade
It has antipyretic and antispasmodic effects. But the most important thing is that the ingredients of such drinks are natural.
Svitlana Fus noted that all herbal teas, without exception, are certainly very useful, but you need to know only one thing – whether you are allergic to a particular ingredient.
The nutritionist added that it is very important to familiarize yourself with the indications and contraindications for use before using any tea, especially herbal tea.
How not to drink tea and why:
- It is not recommended to drink very hot drinks. It can be harmful to the mucous membranes of not only the mouth but also the stomach. The ideal temperature is no more than 60 C.
- It is better to drink tea without sugar and honey, especially when drinking it between meals.
- Herbal teas should be alternated throughout the week.
