What oil is strictly forbidden to fry food in: an expert's answer
There is a lot of debate about which oil is healthier and safer, and which is the best for frying food. Housewives often don't think about it, so they choose the first thing that comes to hand. However, this is not always correct and it is important to know some of the nuances so as not to harm yourself.
Food blogger and baby food expert Roksolana Harasymiv (roksolana.harasymiv) shared some tips on her Instagram page about which types of oil are most suitable for frying and which are strictly prohibited.
According to the expert, refined vegetable oil is the best for frying. It retains its nutritional value at high temperatures and will not be bitter.
In addition, other types of oils are also suitable for high-heat treatment:
- extra virgin olive oil
- avocado oil
- Ghee oil
- corn oil
- coconut oil
Remember that food should always be fried over low to medium heat, and the color of the food should be light, not golden.
The expert called cold-pressed vegetable oil the most dangerous oil for frying. This type of oil should be used only for salads and sauces.
