What is lychee and why should everyone eat it: explained by Svitlana Fus
Fruits are an integral part of everyone's diet because different fruits contain many essential vitamins and minerals. Among the usual fruits, you can often find unique and exotic, but no less healthy ones that people rarely eat out of ignorance. Lychee is one of them.
Nutritionist Svitlana Fus explained on Facebook what kind of fruit it is, what its value is, and who should eat it.
The expert claims that this very healthy fruit grows in Asia, America, and Africa. It tastes like strawberries and pineapple.
Fus noted that it contains a lot of vitamins, namely: B1, B2, B4, B6, B9, K, E, and PP, as well as minerals: potassium, calcium, magnesium, zinc, selenium, manganese, and iron.
It is worth noting that lychee contains a lot of vitamin C, namely 71.5 mg, with a daily requirement of 70 to 100 mg/day. As for copper, it is about 15% of the daily requirement per 100 g of fruit.
"Lychee contains polyphenols, which protect the body's cells from the harmful effects of toxic compounds," added Fus.
Everyone can eat the fruit because it contains a large amount of water and simple carbohydrates, as well as a small amount of protein, fat, and dietary fiber.
Who should definitely eat this fruit?
Because the fruit's pulp is high in vitamin C and polyphenols, it is recommended for people with cardiovascular disease, as well as high blood cholesterol and anemia.
Contraindications for consumption
"This fruit should not be eaten only by people who have high acidity, as well as individual intolerance and allergic reactions.
How much can you eat per day
"For adults – 10-12 pieces, and for children - 3-5 pieces," summarized Fus.
