What is focaccia and how to make it: instead of bread and rolls
Italian flatbread, or focaccia, is a delicious alternative to classic bread. The base for the dish is made with water and yeast, which can also be supplemented with a filling: sausage, cheese, tomatoes, spices, or herbs.
The recipe for the flavorful focaccia was published on one of the culinary blogs (recepty_przepisy) on Instagram.
Ingredients:
- pressed yeast – 25 g
- warm water – 300 ml
- salt – 1.5 tsp
- sugar – 1 tsp
- olive oil – 3 tbsp
- flour – 450 g
Additionally:
- olives
- cherry tomatoes
- Rosemary
Method of preparation:
1. In a bowl, grind the yeast. Add water and stir until the yeast dissolves.
2. Add salt, sugar, oil. Mix well.
3. Add flour in two stages and knead the dough. It will be very soft and sticky. Therefore, grease your hands with oil and knead the dough for about 10 minutes. Cover with plastic wrap and leave for 1 hour in a warm place.
4. Next, put the dough on a baking sheet covered with parchment and greased with oil. Leave it for 30 minutes.
5. Drizzle with oil, add chopped tomatoes and olives. Sprinkle with rosemary.
6. Bake at 220 degrees for 30 minutes.
