The scariest holiday of the fall, Halloween, is about to begin. So, if on the evening of October 31, children or adults dressed as ghosts demand candy and threaten to kill you, don't be alarmed. They are usually treated with delicious treats.

The FoodOboz editorial team has prepared recipes for Halloween desserts, which were shared by chefs on their social media pages.

Chocolate brownies with ghost meringues according to the recipe of Elena Gudzenko, which she shared on her Instagram page

Ingredients:

  • Flour - 160 g
  • Sugar - 160 g
  • Cream or milk - 180 ml
  • Oil - 90 ml
  • Eggs - 2 pcs.
  • Cocoa - 40 g
  • Baking powder - 8 g
  • Vanilla sugar - 5 g

For the meringue:

  • Protein - 2 pcs.
  • Sugar - 120 g
  • A piece of  chocolate

Method of preparation:

  1. Mix flour, cocoa and baking powder in a bowl.
  2. Beat eggs with sugar. Add vanilla sugar.
  3. Pour in cream or milk.
  4. Pour the liquid ingredients into the dry ingredients. Knead the dough.
  5. Pour the dough into the mold. Bake for 30 minutes at 180 degrees.
  6. Cool the brownies, then cut them into squares.
  7. Prepare the meringue. Beat 2 egg whites with sugar. Pour the mixture into a pastry bag.
  8. Pour in the meringue. Bake at 100 degrees for 60-90 minutes. Cool in the oven.
  9. Melt the chocolate. Use it to draw the eyes and mouths of the ghosts on the meringue.

Ingredients:

  • Sugar - 500 g
  • Boiling water - 200 ml
  • Butter - 200 g
  • Ground cinnamon - 2 tsp.
  • Dry ginger - 1 tsp.
  • Salt - 1\2 tsp.
  • Ground nutmeg - 1\4 tsp.
  • Soda - 1 tsp.
  • Eggs - 1 pc.
  • Honey - 1 tbsp.
  • Flour - 800-900 g

Method of preparation:

  1. To make the syrup, pour the sugar into a heavy-bottomed saucepan. Put it on medium heat. When the sugar begins to melt, start stirring it to prevent it from sugary.
  2. When the sugar has melted and turned a dark amber color, remove the saucepan from the heat and, stirring constantly, gradually pour in boiling water.
  3. Put it back on medium heat. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved. Add the butter. Stir again until it is completely melted.
  4. Add salt, spices and baking soda. Add honey if desired. Cool the syrup.
  5. Pass the syrup through a sieve, add the egg and add the flour in two parts.
  6. Knead the dough and put it in the refrigerator overnight.
  7. Divide the dough into 2 parts. Roll out and cut out gingerbread men.
  8. Bake them for 10 minutes at 180 degrees.
  9. Use icing and dyes for decoration.
