Today, there is a rush to buy salt in Ukraine. This is indeed a problem, because the spice significantly affects the taste of food. But don't panic, because there are dishes that don't require salt at all.
Famous Ukrainian chef Yevhen Klopotenko shared a selection of such culinary masterpieces on his official website.
Forshmak with herring
Forshmak is a savory herring appetizer. It goes well with croutons or potatoes, which can be cooked in any way. But in some European countries, forshmak is served hot. So it's time to experiment with this idea. The herring fillet will add a salty flavor to the dish.
Stuffed eggs
This appetizer is very popular in Ukraine. You can use any filling, but for the salt-free version, you can choose herring fillet, canned tuna, and cheese.
Tuna and lemon sandwich
It is in a canned form that tuna tastes salty. You can cook many dishes from it. For example, salads with seasonal greens, and serving pieces of fish with a side dish. Rice, potatoes, or pasta will do. It is also appropriate to bake pizza and add tuna as a topping. By the way, in this dish, citrus acid enhances the saltiness of sea fish.

Feta cheese is a versatile salty product. You can buy it in any store. Feta goes well with fresh cucumbers, tomatoes, arugula, spinach, and green onions. Feta cheese also goes well with citrus fruits such as grapefruits, tangerines, and oranges.
Mushrooms with feta cheese
If you thought that we have listed all the dishes with feta, this is not the case. This cheese is also a great filling for dumplings and pies and a delicious topping for corn or wheat porridge. To make the porridge not look boring on the plate, make original mushrooms with garlic and... feta. Note that the cheese is salty, so you can leave the porridge out and add cheese to taste when serving. It tastes better when served hot.
Salad with herring, beets, gherkins and apples
We couldn't leave this amazing salad out. It's a signature dish, and we're proud to have created it in a balance of flavors, combining three ingredients - salty, sour, and sweet. Beets should be baked in the oven for this dish. Cooked in this way, the root vegetable will open up to the maximum, and in combination with herring, it creates an amazing taste.
