What cereals do not need to be rinsed before cooking: we share a selection
Many cereals require additional rinsing before cooking, as they can contain excess waste. But if the product needs to be cooked quickly, pouring and pouring water takes a lot of time.
That's why OBOZREVATEL has compiled a list of cereals that don't need to be rinsed:
1. Hercules, flakes, and semolina are very small and loose cereals that absorb water quickly. It takes only a little water for them to lose their appearance and taste and become very sticky.
2. Couscous – usually, this cereal can contain single grains of sand. They are very easy to pick out by hand. It is better to cook this product immediately in boiling water.
3. Bulgur is a special type of wheat groats that undergo heat treatment before being packaged. Therefore, rinsing is not required for this product.
4. Corn and barley – these cereals are very loose, so you don't need to waste water on them once again – just sort them out by hand.
