According to the expert, pearl barley is considered one of the healthiest because it contains a large amount of nutrients. In particular:

  • Iron, calcium, magnesium, and selenium.
  • Important amino acids that can only be obtained from special food supplements.
  • Vitamins that have an antibacterial effect and relieve inflammation.

You can also eat pearl barley as a delicious independent dish or side dish.

How to diversify pearl barley

1. Add butter, grated hard cheese, dry garlic, salt and pepper.

2. Add cream cheese, Italian herbs, cherry tomatoes and salt.

3. Add olive oil, gorgonzola, arugula, and salt.

Pearl barley tastes equally good if you make a risotto based on it:

  • Fish and spinach.
  • Pear and blue cheese.
  • Bacon and goat cheese.
  • Lamb and cilantro.

According to the nutritionist, it is best to combine cereal with chicken and mushrooms, bacon, mussels, minced meat, and rapini.
