Universal frozen cherry filling: suitable for any baking

Many housewives froze fresh cherries for the winter in the summer. But now they need to be properly prepared. It's a great idea to make a versatile berry filling that can be added to any homemade pastry.

Ingredients:

  • cherries – 1 kg
  • sugar – 100 g
  • corn starch – 100 g

Method of preparation:

1. Defrost the cherries and separate them from the pits.

2. Pour the cherries into a thick-bottomed saucepan and pour the juice from it into another bowl.

3. Add sugar to the berries. Stir the mixture.

4. You can add a little more sugar if the cherries are too sour.

5. Put on the stove, and bring to a boil over low heat. Stirring constantly.

6. Add the starch to the cherry juice, stir until smooth, and pour into the saucepan with the cherries. Stir to combine.

7. Cook everything together for another 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.

8. Remove from the stove. Cool completely.

9. You can use it immediately or put it in a glass container with a lid and store it in the refrigerator.
