Universal dough for dumplings, varenyky and chebureks: does not stick to hands and kneads well
You can prepare one universal dough for dumplings, varenyky and chebureks. It will be much faster and more affordable than making a separate base for each type. It's also more affordable.
The idea of making a universal dough for dumplings, varenyky and chebureks was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Yulia (yuliia_mikulich). It will not stick to your hands and kneads perfectly.
Ingredients for the dough:
- flour - 420 g
- egg - 1 pc (50 g)
- oil - 3 tbsp (30 g)
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- water - 90 g
- milk - 90 g
Method of making the dough:
1. Sift flour into a deep bowl.
2. Whisk egg with salt and oil until smooth and add to the flour.
3. Grind the mixture into crumbs.
4. Combine water and milk in a saucepan.
5. Put the pot on the stove and bring to a boil.
6. Pour the hot liquid into the crumbs.
7. First, stir the mass with a fork (because it is hot), and then knead with your hands until smooth and homogeneous.
8. If the dough is sticky, add a little more flour. If it is dry, add a little more water/milk.
9. Put the dough in a bag and leave it on the table for 30-40 minutes.
10. Then cook whatever you want. Dumplings, varenyky or chebureks with any fillings.
